Poetry and a bit of gratefulness

This poem is what inspires me this morning, as I sit and ponder events in the world and how different people respond to these events:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ah the wars they will
be fought again
The holy dove
She will be caught again
bought and sold
and bought again
the dove is never free.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
(Leonard Cohen)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The garden needs tending as this warm weather
is causing everything to either bolt or grow like
lunatics on speed. We're seeing several birdhouse
gourds emerging now and it excites Jalen to no end.

I'm feeling quite positive lately. If the world turns
inside-out, I will ride the wave or crash, but today
will be spent in joy. I will feel the connection
with m
y fellow humans on this journey...for we
are all reflections of one another to some degree.

Today is about connecting with my children, my
friends, my piece of the planet and all the other
places on this amazing chunk of rock floating in
space.
I am constantly awed and fascinated by
this place called earth and the people here-in.

So I leave you with this symbol of love, created
by Sierra who knows little about the idea of
limitation...thankfully.

Let some light in through the cracks.....

i found recently that to let light in i had to just make my cracks bigger.

it came in a flash and i was overwhelmed by it. my friend nancy was talking at the park and i suddenly realized this same thing. that i was falling apart inside and that i didn't need to. that i would ride this wave or crash in it.

i really do think that most people will be okay. and that a lot probably won't.

i am taking steps. but i am no longer letting myself forget to live in this moment, right here, right now.

What a wonderful sweet post. I'm also washed over with that awesome joyful feeling right now.

It is an amazing life we lead isn't it? :)

Beautiful post! I really find a lot in the words of Leonard Cohen. He writes the most amazing songs.

Sometimes we get so busy trying to make our world perfect, trying to control every aspect of it, that we forget about the light, forget to simply let it in. Thanks for the lovely reminder.

That's really beautiful. I've been trying to remember how much worse things can always be and that no matter what is going on in my life there are always amazing things to be grateful for. Love you sis!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I am awed by my connections to the people in my life and the way everything seems to unfold in it's own way.

The waves used to scare me, but instead of trying to control the waves (gawd, can you say EXHAUSTING) I'm learning how to surf. :)
