Standing alone

The tree,
hugged one last time by sunlight
before earth slips into
void of night.

She gathers up amber rays.
They expose her,
shedding plush red cloak
for grey bones reaching skyward.
Exposed.

She is laid bare.
Nothing but hope
of spring warmth,
life stirring quietly.

She carries the seeds of tomorrow.
She holds the most fragile of dreams.
Destiny
held ever so gently
in her grey bone arms.

Ren,
Not really knowing the inspiration behind “Standing Alone”, I share my interpretation, what I saw and how it moved me.

Standing Alone – aren’t we all?

The tree,
hugged one last time by sunlight
before earth slips into
void of night.

Life had been a bowl of cherries for her; things in her life going along just fine; Status quo good. Then with no warning, what she thought was a fun, exciting and powerful way of living life changed.

She gathers up amber rays.
They expose her,
shedding plush red cloak
for grey bones reaching skyward.
Exposed.

She starts attracting people in her life that change the status quo for good - bringing a new brilliance to an already passionate life. These people start contributing to her life, bringing new light, colors, hope, excitement and sadness to what has seemed to be the perfect life at one time – now, she’s not sure – looking, looking deep inside herself – exposing something never felt before - what’s really there – an alive and burning yet scary feeling.

She is laid bare.
Nothing but hope
of spring warmth,
life stirring quietly.

Her walls, rights and wrongs, what she should be…ego – all set aside. She is listening, open to a new way of life, breaking down her internal walls that have caged a person never fully expressed or discovered before and possible letting her out to be, just be. Enjoyment, embracing a true excitement of what an exceptional life might look like, pondering a rich and fragile conversation – she has boundless internal energy, a lightening storm of thoughts bouncing around in her gray matter – yet she exposes nothing.

She carries the seeds of tomorrow.
She holds the most fragile of dreams.
Destiny
held ever so gently
in her grey bone arms.

She knows it’s her life, her will that creates her life. On her quest she discovers vulnerability like never experienced before in her life. An old way of being, the firm floor beneath her that seemed so solid in the past is no longer. She has realized her discoveries, passions, choices; her rich fulfillment of this thing called life - is up to her and no one else.

Thank you for that poem. Very nice. And I really liked the photos as well. What a talent you have.

In quiet moments, we discover who we really are and what we are searching for. Thanks again, I am glad that I found this blog!
